Here is a trio of Composition buttons two of which have fine gold inclusions, the other having copper. They are also whistle buttons with a large hole at the front and two small ones on the back. When they are sewn on the thread is down in the hole so can’t be rubbed like on a normal sew through type button.
This glass button was made by Freya Marriott from Port Fairy, Victoria in 2017. It is called East Beach and features a bird flying over the water which washes onto the white sand. She made a limited number of them especially for members of The Victorian Button Collector’s Club for their country Buttonfest held in Port Fairy that year. It is rather unique.
This metal picture button is called Charter Oak Tree. It features buildings including a windmill which have been divided by the tree. The background is painted with the buildings in fine detail in white metal. The tree and border are in brass. It has a japanned back and metal loop shank and measures 3 1/2 cm.
