This is a brass button which has been enamelled in blue and black. The design is simple but effective just the same. It has a brass loop shank and measures 2 cm.

Here is a modern metal button which looks like pewter to me. The centre has cream enamel which offsets the five leaves. It is rather striking in it’s own way.

These two black glass buttons are similar in style and each has gold lustre around the edge which has been bevelled. They are quite dramatic in their design and both have a metal four way box shank.

This button has been really pretty in it’s day but the fabric is now rather worn. It has a really old look about it. The brass border has leaf like shapes which have been painted cream. It has a tin back and measures 2 cm.

Here are two groups of Fabric Covered buttons made by local women in Cambodia, the proceeds going to support them. They are very brightly coloured and have tin backs.

This small button at 1 1/4cm is rather pretty with a black background. The decoration is very delicate with a triangle and tiny flowers entwined. It is backmarked GESLTZL & GESCHUEL? (Not easy to read)

Here are the three little pigs as sew through buttons. I think they are made of resin. They are a novelty and just a bit of fun.

This metalized plastic button is quite different having an insect depicted on it. It has “Made in China” printed on the top. I do not know anything about it or what it represents and have just obtained it.

My friend Suzanne gave me this button recently. It is of black glass and has a Chinese symbol in gold lustre featured on it. It measures just over 2 cm and has a self shank.

I have just acquired this brown glass button depicting a koala in gold lustre (which is quite worn) I think this design button was made in several different colours.
